ABOUT

I am Skylar Copeland, German Shepherd owner since 2013 and breeder of White Swiss Shepherds since 2020 (kennel Fireside Fernweh). In 2021, I began training IGP with a couple of my Swissies, which is what led me to purchasing Bria. As much as I love the Swiss (and still do IGP with them), my love of the sport drove me to adding the breed best suited for it.

My first German Shepherd, Athena, and I first trialed in agility in late 2014. We had quite a successful career, earning 30+ titles in agility, rally obedience, and obedience. Some of Athena's career highlights:

UKC Top Junior Agility Qualifier - 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019

CPE Agility National Qualifier & 4th Place Standard (24in V) - 2016

UKC Top Junior Rally Qualifier - 2017, 2018

UKC Top Junior Obedience Qualifier - 2018

UKC Agility II All Star Nationals 2nd Place (20in) - 2018

UKC GRACH All Star Nationals 1st Place (20in) - 2018

UKC Top Junior Agility Nationals 3rd Place (20in) - 2018

3x UKC Agility High in Trial Winner

I actually visited an IGP club for the first time with my Athena back in 2014, but she didn't have the right qualities for protection and I was far more interested in agility than obedience or tracking at that time. I circled back to IGP again in 2018, but couldn't find a quality trainer. Finally, in 2022, I was able to go more regularly to training with a quality trainer...though it is a 3.5hr drive.

I plan to keep the Kreigerseele breeding program small, and my main intention with breeding German Shepherds at all is to produce my own sport prospects. My aim is to breed dogs who are capable of titling in IGP while also maintaining livability in the home.
